The recognition of a foreign protein (antigen) by host B and/or T cells and the induction of immune response have a key role for human immune system. The peptide binding to MHC proteins is a prerequisite for B or T-cell recognition. Determining the peptide-binding preferences exhibited by the MHC extensive set of alleles requires an enormous experimental work. A more rational approach is the development of bioinformatics prediction methodologies. Among others, proteochemometrics (PCM) is quite suitable for MHC binding prediction as it models simultaneously the bioactivity of multiple ligands against multiple protein targets. Handling multiple targets is the key to \"ligand polypharmacology\" and the development of multi-target drugs. The few applications of PCM for MHC binding prediction showed that the developed models have excellent predictive ability.

The paper presents a study on analysis of citations made in the introduction section of articles that report empirical research. The attempt is to provide preliminary study towards validation of an earlier proposition that significant amount of citations made in the introduction sections cannot positively count in the analysis to evaluate performance of scientific publications. In this present paper, citations made in the introduction sections in six different scientific publications were analyzed. A scientific journal was selected from each continent, and their first four articles published in 2014 were analyzed. Only articles that report empirical researches were analyzed. Overall, the study showed that over 80% of citations made in the introduction sections may not be applicable in the computation of effective impact of publications.

Increased interest in the clinical use of antibiotics for periodontal therapy required the development of a sensitive assay for the quantitation of levofloxacin in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF). The HPLC assay employs a C18 reversed-phase Hypersil BDS column with a mobile phase composed of methanol and phosphate buffer (pH 3.5). The chromatographic separation was monitored by a UV- Visible detector with an excitation wavelength of 290nm. The retention time of Levofloxacin and Ciprofloxacin were 5.55 min and 6.52min respectively. Levofloxacin was extracted from GCF collected on capillary tubes by addition of acetonitrile containing the internal standard ciprofloxacin, and phosphate buffer. The percentage mean extraction recovery of low, mid and high quality control samples was 89.53 ± 0.91 % (Mean ± SD) for Levofloxacin and it was 91.2 ± 2.2 % for Ciprofloxacin. The lowest limit of quantitation was 50 ng/ml, with a relative standard deviation of 2.56%. The interday and intraday precision at LLOQ was 3.20 ± 0.80 (mean±SD) and 3.505 0.84 (mean±SD). The typical GCF volumes collected were 0.1-1 l. The method was validated for the linear concentration range 50-1300 ng/ml of levofloxacin on the capillary tubes. This assay for levofloxacin was shown to be an accurate, precise and rugged method. The proposed method can be used for the estimation of Levofloxacin which was administered as in situ gels in periodontitis.

In this paper, we introduce and investigate a new class of preinvex functions, which is called geometrically log-preinvex functions. Some new Hermite-\nHadamard type inequalities are obtained. The idea and technique of this paper may \nstimulate further research in this field.

This paper deals with study of species composition and population level of nasal and tonsillar microbiota in adults. Contamination of mucous membranes with S.aureus, S.pyogenes, S.viridans, H. influenzae, K.pneumoniae, E. coli, S. pneumoniae, fungi of Candida genus in adults infected with influenza viruses had determined. It had been established in vitro the influence alike antagonistic activity of Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus licheniformis strains towards inhibition of bacterial growth of Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes strains: after 24 hours for 24,15±0,17%, after 48 hours – to 44,65±0,22% and after 72 hours – to 58,94±0,23%. Permanent antagonistic activity had appeared onto S. pyogenes also in 24 hours, gradually increased and reached up to 73,33±0,19% in 72 hours. It was observed the decreasing of population level of pathogenic and opportunistic organisms of tonsillar and nasal mucosae against the background of complete elimination of S. aureus, K. pneumonia, S. pyogenes, S.viridans, S. epidermidis, H. influenzae, S. pneumoniae, E. coli, fungi of Candida genus (p<0.05).

In this study, the effect of Sideritis libanotica plant and its roots extract in methanol and hexane phases on acetylcholinesterase (AChE: E.C.3.1.1.7) enzyme was investigated. The results indicated that sideritis libanotica of plant and root achieved inhibition AChE which is an important enzyme for the nervous system of the human body. Choise in esterase activity was spectrophotometrically measured using acetylthiocholine iodide (AChI) as a substrate and dithiobisnitrobenzoic acid (DTNB) as the coloring agent using different aliquots of plant and root extracts. AChE catalyzes the hydrolysis of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter substance which functions in certain parts of the nervous system. Sideritis libanotica has been traditionally used to aid digestion, strengthen the immune system and suppress common cold, the flu and other viruses, allergies and shortness of breath, sinus congestion, even pain and mild anxiety. As the enzyme resource, human plasma and erythrocyte were used. For plasma, Activity%-I graps were drawn; I50 value for plant and root were calculated in methane and hexane extract according to the graphics. I50 values showing inhibition effect are 1.066x10-3 mg/mL for Sideritis libanotica plant, 5.888x10-3 mg/mL for Sideritis libanotica plant-hexane, 0.174x10-3 mg/mL for Sideritis libanotica plant root-methanol. Sideritis libanotica plant extract did not show inhibition effect on plasma AChE at hexane phase. Sideritis libanotica plant and its root showed inhibition effect on plasma AChE at methanol phase. I50 values for upper part and root of plant showing inhibition effect were 0.1679x10-3 mg/mL and 0.2136x10-3 mg/mL, respectively. Upper part and root plant did not show any effect over erythrocyte AChE at hexane phase. At this stage of kinetic study, the study was performed on 5 different substrates and 3 different inhibitor concentration. Upper part and root of plant which showed inhibition effect on plasma and erythrocyte AChE had non-competitive inhibition.
